Thank you to those who volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank on Saturday, May 4th. We had 5 volunteers work together with another group of approximately 20 volunteers, sorting frozen meat in the warehouse. In about an hour and a half, we had completed our task: sorting and reboxing 9,660 lbs of frozen meat (which worked out to approximately 386 lbs per volunteer!). The meat will be distributed to partner organizations for further distribution, or to be made into meals, or will be put into smaller aliquots to go directly to families in need.
Thank you Elena, Ashley, Chris, Susanna, and Jane!
